Neutron Stars

• The region around a

neutron star has a very

strong magnetic field….

• Charged particles accelerated

along the magnetic poles (not

necessarily the rotation axis) emit photons by a process called Synchrotron Radiation….

• If we see these photons, we infer a neutron star!
