May 15, 2007: Exam 4 is today. Please bring a Scantron 882 and a No. 2 pencil.
May 10, 2007: Just to remind you where we are. Exam 4 will be held on Tuesday, May 15 -- Please bring a Scantron 882 and a No. 2 pencil. A review of the semester will be held on Thursday, May 17. The Final Exam is on Thursday, May 24 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. -- Please bring a Scantron 882 and a No. 2 pencil.
May 08, 2007: The Night Exercise Booklet with your semester-long onservations, including the supplemental questions which account for 20% of the Night Exercise grade, is due today.
May 08, 2007: There will be a quiz over Module 8 on Thursday, May 10. Please bring a Scantron 815 and a No. 2 pencil.
May 03, 2007: As promised there is a Night Exercise quiz today. Please bring a Scantron 815 and a No. 2 pencil. You may use your Night Exercise booklet during the quiz.
May 03, 2007: An extra credit opportunity has presented itself! Today from 11am-2pm, and Monday 10am-2pm, please attend the solar observing outside of Sequoia/Mendocino Hall. Please make detailed drawings of what you see, describe in a paragraph what you saw, have the assistant sign your work, and turn it it to me next weeek. This will count up to 2.5 percentage points extra credit, depending on the quality of the work.

April 10, 2007: Exam 3 is on Thursday, April 12. Please bring a Scantron 882 and a No. 2 pencil. Note there is an extra credit opportunity for this exam. Please see Module 5 for details.
April 10, 2007: The next quiz over the Night Observing Exercises will be on Tuesday, April 17. Please bring a Scantron 815 and a No. 2 pencil. You may use your Night Exercise booklet during the quiz. Questions to be answered on the Night Exercises will be passed out on that day.

March 20, 2007: Remember that today is an out-of-class web-based day. Also, Exam 2 (including a Night Exercise quiz) will be on Thursday, March 22.
March 13, 2007: A quiz over Module 3 will be held on Thursday, March 15. The first quiz on the Night Exercises will be held on March 22 (in conjunction with Exam 2).
March 13, 2007: Help sessions for the Night Exercises WILL be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (March 13, 14 and 15) at 8:00pm, regardless of cloud cover. They will last no longer than 20 minutes, and they will be the only ones planned for the rest of the semster, so plan accordingly.
March 06, 2007: At 5:30pm, increasing clouds make it unlikely it will be clear enough for a Night Exercise help session tonight. It is, therefore, canceled. I apologize for any inconveniences.
March 06, 2007: Thursday's class will be web-based, with no class meeting.

March 01, 2007: As of 6pm it was cloudy in Sacramento, and the forecast was for cloudy skies tonight. Hence there will not be a Night Exercise help session this evening. Please check again for updates on the day/time for the next help session.
February 27, 2007: Everyone should have begun the Night Observing Exercises (although I understand the weather has been bad!). Please check this page for updates on the day/time for the next help session. Note: There will be no quiz on Thursday, March 01.
Febraury 22, 2007: The first exam is on Thursday, March 01. Please bring a Scantron 882 and a No. 2 pencil.
February 22, 2007: Please begin the Night Observing Exercises. Another help session will be held as early as Monday evening, weather permitting. Please check this page for updates. Note: If the weather breaks, the first quiz on the Exercises will occur as early as Thursday, March 01.
February 15, 2007: Class ID numbers have been assigned and are available during class.
February 15, 2007: The first "help session" for the Night Observing Exercises will be held tonight at 6:45pm, outside Mendocino Hall (north side), weather permitting.
