Photo 11: Introduction to Digital Imaging
compositing with masks
Drag Exercise Gradient Composite to your desktop and open in Photoshop
Create one image using at least 3 layers included in this image.
MUSTS
1. You MUST use at least one gradient on a mask.
2. You MUST match color. For example if you add the clouds layer to the rooftop layer you must match the blues and the brightness of each so they look correct.
3. You MUST use at least 3 layers - more is ok, less is not ok.
4. You MUST delete any layer you are not using.
5. You MUST show me what you have before you leave class.
6. You MUST drop in classroom drop box – save as yourname.gradients.psd
Also, use some of the things we’ve learned in class like:
Adjustment layers – remember you can make affect a single layer.
Make something b&w with channel mixer.
Change the color of something with hue/saturation.
Increase or decrease the contrast with curves.
Color correct with curves or layers.
Darken the border with a selection and a curves adjustment layer.
Transform or Liquify something.
You may use type or shapes.
Make your own shadow on a blank empty layer, if appropriate.
OR USE ANYTHING ELSE WE’VE LEARNED!
BE ORIGINAL & CREATIVE! HAVE SOME FUN!
