Objectives
Upon completion of this unit students should be able to:
List the main groups of minerals, and describe the chemical makeup of each
List the properties that a geologist would use to identify a mineral: streak, specific gravity, luster, hardness, crystal form, color, chemical makeup, magnetism, effervescence
Be prepared to identify these properties in mineral specimens during class.
