Objectives
Upon completion of this unit students should be able to:
Understand how stress and strain affect rocks
Name the parts of a fold
Name different folds
Identify domes and basins based on strike, dip and ages of beds
Identify different types of faults, and name the parts
Visit a working wellfield at the CSUS campus, and review material from Chapter 11 (Groundwater). You should be familiar with these concepts and terms:
aquifer, aquitard, porosity, permeability, confined aquifer, unconfined aquifer
Wellfield field trip Friday's class will be held at the CSUS wellfield. We will meet in the classroom at 8:55 and I will walk to the wellfield with you. Don't be late! If you are late for class and miss the group you can meet us here:
Homework for week #12 Assignment: Test corrections
I will give you back 1/3 of the points that you missed on the test if you hand in written test corrections by Wednesday:
