The Practice Instructions Project ask you to analyze one of the assigned historical records of Asian practice, paying attention the interaction of the three elements of culture. You then draw on what you learned to write and/or draw a set of instructions that could be used to facilitate the similar contemporary practice described in the relevant scenario.

THREE CAUTIONS about the Practice Instructions Project:

1. Make sure you complete all background materials, which includes having someone else contribute comments to the Peer Review pages. Otherwise you will **lose 20-50% of the points** for your final project.
   
   
2. If you choose to write a narrative of your instructions, make sure to include explicit references to the historical Asian source on which your instructions draw.
   
   
3. If you choose to create a poster or series of sketches, make sure that your artistic details include sufficient quotes, analysis, and application to the contemporary practice. If they don’t, add notes and comments or write a short written explanation of your artwork.
