M. Coleman: I want to study fish at Sac State!
|
I am trying a new idea here. I think that fish are great and I think that there are lots of young people in middle school and high school that think that fish are great too.
If you are one of those people, I want to encourage you to consider coming to Sacramento State to get a college degree and to study fish while you do it. Perhaps you are interested in becoming a scientist (such as a marine biologist or a behavioral ecologist) or maybe a fish veterinarian or possibly a conservation biologist that works with fish or any of a bunch of other things, but the key thing is that you must like fish.
So, here's the plan. Rather than wait for the government to do something, we're going to do it ourselves. The plan is flexible and I'm not sure of all the details, but for now, the first thing you have to do is to email me an email that says "I want to study fish at Sac State " in the subject line. In the body of the email tell me who you are and why you are interested in fish.
The kinds of things I am thinking of doing are having a tour of my lab, maybe having you meet some of the college students here that like fish, we can talk about getting into college and that sort of thing.
So, if you like fish, send me a message and let's get started.
