Paul is currently a student at Sacramento City College. At Sac State, he is investigating the difference between iterocavous and semelcavous mouthbrooding cichlids. Iterocavous mouthbrooders release the fry but then take the fry back in to the mother's mouth if danger appears. Once a semelcavous mouthbrooder releases her fry, she never takes them back in.

 

Paul joined the lab in September 2006.
