Introduces students to the art and architecture of Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, Tibet, China, Japan and Korea). The styles, subjects and significance of Asian art will be presented in a broader context that includes consideration of the history, geography, ethnic populations, languages and religions of these countries (i.e., Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, Islam, Daoism, and Shinto). 3 units.
