June 6-8, 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Forum, Minneapolis, MN
I had the opportunity to attend the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Forum in Minneapolis, MN. 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Kailash Satyarthi was the featured speaker this year. Mr. Satyarthi has dedicated his life to combating child labor in India and elsewhere. This is from the plenary session with the Nobel Laureate on the first day.
Five faculty members and twelve students from our university attended this forum. This isn't the best shot but we had an opportunity to take a group photo with the Nobel Laureate and his wife.
A number of experts and dignitaries were invited to speak on several issues from children and armed conflict to sex trafficking. In the afternoon on the first day, Cindy McCain gave a presentation on the work that she has been involved in to fight against sex trafficking. Here is Professor Boatamo Mosupyoe with Mrs. McCain after a plenary session.
