Sac State presents ID 96i-02: College and Career with AI, a dynamic 2-unit course designed for high school students in the Sacramento area, current Sac State students, and individuals enrolling through Open University. This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence in real-world applications.

Course Highlights

Engaged Learning Experience: Engage in a fully online, synchronous format with interactive group activities and self-paced work. Access the course via Canvas and join live Zoom sessions every Monday from 5:30-7:10 PM.

Hands-On AI Applications: Explore AI's role as an information aggregator, coach, counselor, and more. Learn how to use AI for research, learning, problem-solving, and creative projects.

Real-World Skills: Develop valuable skills for academic success, career growth, and enhanced work performance. Apply AI in various fields and critically evaluate its outputs.

Course Structure and Requirements

Flexible and Accessible: No required textbooks. Access course materials, submit assignments, and participate in discussions via Canvas. Ensure you have a reliable computer or tablet, high-speed internet, and a free account with OpenAI.

Engaging Assessments: Participate in weekly discussion board postings, synchronous class activities, and a final AI-assisted project that showcases your ability to integrate AI into your academic or professional field.

  • Register yourself through My Sac State.

• High School Students in the Greater Sacramento Area:
  • Take advantage of the Accelerated College Entrance (ACE) Program. Contact your High School counsellor and ask for the ACE form. It is free for you.
• Everyone else:
  • If you want credit, enroll through our Open University program. The fee is $640.
  • For no credit, join this Google Group. While the course is open to all it is most appropriate for high school and college students.
