Sacramento State Sport Clubs
The Sacramento State Sport Club program consists of 21 highly competitive clubs that compete against other universities in leagues, conferences, and tournaments at the local, regional, and national level.
Each club is developed, organized, and led by students with guidance and direction from the Sport Club Advisor, Sport Club Student Assistants, and club coaches and instructors. Both novices and highly experienced athletes are actively recruited.
There are currently 650 students participating in the Sacramento State Sport Clubs program.

Starting this fall we are welcoming 2 new Sport Clubs to Sacramento State! For more information on these new clubs, please contact our office or the club presidents!
The Sacramento State Women's Softball Club has just joined the sport club family as of this year! We are a group of girls who just want to keep playing competitively after high school and show off our hornet pride. We are joining the National Club Softball Association in order to play for the 2017 season and hopefully grow throughout these next few years.

Sport Club of the Month - March 2016
Women's Volleyball Club
The Women’s Volleyball Club made Sac State proud during the month of March. They finished the month with a 3-1, defeating Saint Mary’s, Sonoma State, and UOP. The club ended their regular season with an 8-5 record in league play, placing 2nd in the North Division of the Northern California Collegiate Volleyball League.
In addition to their outstanding play on the court, their officers did an incredible job fulfilling their roles and responsibilities as club leaders. Jackie Pulatie (President), Breanna Gray (Safety Officer), and Domonique Sacre (Travel Officer), put in a great deal of effort over the last month and deserve to be recognized.

Jordan Villasenor – Men's Soccer Travel Officer
Jordan Villasenor is the Travel Officer for the Men’s Soccer Club. He is extremely committed to his officer position, which is evident through his work ethic, communication skills, and follow through. The Travel Officer position is time consuming and tedious, but Jordan has done an outstanding job with all of his responsibilities. He has teamed up with a strong officer core to represent the Men’s Soccer Club in a positive light throughout their first year of existence.

Female Athlete of the Month – Tayler Groll (Ski & Snowboard Team)
Tayler Groll enjoyed an extremely accomplished month of March after leading her club to an 8th place finish at National Championships in Lake Placid, NY, for women’s snowboarding. She is currently the 14th ranked female in the nation for women’s collegiate snowboarding after placing in the top 20 in the country in rail jam, slopestyle, boarder cross, and giant slalom.
Male Athlete of the Month – Richard Orth (Ski & Snowboard Team)
Richard Orth also had a particularly strong performance at National Championships this past month in Lake Placid, NY. Not only did he lead Sac State to a 4th place overall finish for men’s snowboarding, but he also returned from nationals ranked 13th in the country in men’s snowboarding. Richard also contributed to his club ranking in the top 6 in all 4 snowboarding disciplines.
