Financial Aid Questions:
All applicants who receive financial aid are encouraged to meet with a Financial Aid advisor to discuss how receipt of an award may impact thier eligibility for financial aid.

The Faculty Endowment for Student Scholarships Awards for Post-Baccalaureate students is by invitation only.  Invitations are sent to qualified applicants who have maintained an excellent GPA both overall and in their major discipline and are in the top 5% of GPAs in their major.  The award recognizes academic achievement and the promise of continued academic success as well as service and contributions on campus, off campus or both.  The awards will be in the amount equivalent to the recipient’s registration fees for the spring 2018 semester.  Information regarding the award specifications, application process, award notification, and the awards ceremony is provided below.

Award Specification for Post-Baccalaureate Students:

Deadline for Applying: November 9, 2018

  1. Must have at least one semester and at least 12 units at Sacramento State as a Post-Baccalaureate student by the end of the current fall semester (fall 2018).
  2. Must be enrolled at least half-time (4 units) during the semester of application (fall 2018) and have at least one semester remaining at Sacramento State.
  3. Must have a an overall and Sacramento State Post-Baccalaureate GPA of 3.5, and be in the top 5% of GPAs in the student’s major. Finalists’ continued eligibility through fall semester 2018 will be verified prior to the granting of awards.  Your fall 2018 grades will be verified before receiving the award in spring 2019.
  4. Previous recipients of a Post-Baccalaureate award are not eligible for a second award in this category.  Previous recipients in the undergraduate category may be eligible for a Post Baccalaureate award.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Applications must be submitted using the Sacramento State AcademicWorks. Enter all information as requested.  If the required information is not provided, the application will not be considered.

Step One:  In the Student Center, select the Financial Aid Link located on the right hand side of your Student Center and click on “Apply for Scholarships”.

Step Two:  Log-in and complete the General Application

Step Three: Select the Opportunity: Faculty Endowment for Student Scholarships for Post Baccalaureate

Step Four: Complete the five (5) specific questions. Please note the information below regarding question #4: Personal Statement and question #5: Required Reference. 

Question 4 - Personal Statement: Provide a statement describing your academic accomplishments, evidence of service and contributions to your major department, college, university and/or the community at-large, and your future educational goals.  The Personal Statement must be single spaced and is limited to 500 words.

Question 5 - Reference: A reference is required. Be sure to have the name and email address of the person that a reference is being requested from before you begin this step. Please advise your references that they will receive an email with a link to a questionnaire and that the deadline for submitting references is Friday, November 9, 2018.

  • A reference from a Sacramento State faculty member in which the faculty member provides an evaluation of the student’s academic achievement and promise of academic success as well as the student’s service and contribution to the department, college, university and/or the community at-large.

Step Six:  Submit your application by clicking on the submit button.  If you do not complete this step, your application will not be submitted.

Award Notification: The results of the Committee's deliberations will be announced the week of January 14, 2019.  Those receiving an award will be notified first. Those receiving regrets will be notified later in the week. 

  • Please note that you should pay all applicable registration fees for spring 2019 on time.  If you are chosen to receive an award, you will be reimbursed.
  • All questions regarding Financial Aid must be directed to the Sacramento State Financial Aid and Scholarship Office. All applicants who receive financial aid are encouraged to meet with a Financial Aid advisor to discuss how receipt of an award may impact their eligibility for financial aid.

Award Ceremony:  An award ceremony will be held at a special meeting of the Faculty Senate on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 3:30 pm in the Foothill Suite, University Union.  Please “save the date” so that if you are selected, you will be available to receive this honor in person!
