After 15 years of national, success-filled marketing and advertising experience in high-level positions in the private and public sector, Gordon Fowler launched 3fold Communications with Angela Criser in 2004. 3fold Communications has become an award winning, multi-million dollar agency and a leader in socially conscious marketing.
In addition to providing for-profit companies strategic and integrated marketing and social media services, 3fold Communications specializes in working with nonprofits to increase their capacity, strategically position them to attract new funding, build their influence, and strengthen their overall impact.
Clarisse Baca, Activity Jungle
Clarisse Baca '12 (Business Administration) '15 MBA is a co-founder of Activity Jungle and leads business development.
Baca was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico and came to Sacramento to play tennis for the Sac State Women’s team as an undergraduate. She's currently the Sac State women’s tennis head coach.
James Chu, Haven & Florin
James Chu '13 (Criminal Justice) was born and raised in Sacramento as a first generation American and learned at an early age to take risks and initiative to help contribute to the needs of his family.
Upon graduation, he moved to New York City to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams. During his time there, he co-founded Haven & Florin, a company that focuses on designing multifunctional made in USA backpacks for the everyday explorer.
The company is currently expanding its product line after the success of its product, the Ruckpack.
Kraig Clark, JLM Energy
Kraig Clark ’91 (Accountancy) is a proud Sacramento State graduate who built his first company, CoreLogic (CLGX), with fellow alumni Steve Schroeder. They evolved a two-person operation into over 235 people doing over $70 million in revenue in less than 10 years.
After exiting, Clark turned into a serial entrepreneur and investor. Clark has passion for the environment and energy sustainability. He fills both of those passions by co-founding JLM Energy, a local renewable-energy company and eScreenLogic, an environmental services company.
In his spare time, Clark enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, and the outdoors.

Maritza ’07 (Communication Studies) is the co-founder of the event marketing agency, Unseen Heroes. Using the local landscape as their canvas, Maritza and husband Roshaun specialize in transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary with memorable experiences for the entire community.

John Meidinger '09 (Government) '16 MBA is a co-founder of Activity Jungle and is in charge of business strategy and marketing. He's also a marketing representative for Federated.
Stacey Powell, Finance Gym
Stacey Powell '92 (Accountancy) is the founder of Finance Gym, a social venture where you and your money get stronger. She also founded Creating Answers, a chief financial officer firm providing excellent financials and financial coaching to small business and not-for-profits.
Her sole purpose is to change the way people interact with their money so that they don't just know better, they do better.
Eric Ullrich, Hacker Lab
Eric Ullrich is co-founder/COO of Hacker Lab, which operates on the premise that technology can change the world and the starting point is education. Hacker Lab aims to educate and spark innovation with community driven resources. Ullrich focuses on team building, partnerships, education and startup support.
