Choral Director Donald Kendrick directs his final Sacramento State choir concert in the astounding acoustics of Sacred Heart Church at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 10. The church is located at 39th and J streets.
Kendrick is retiring after 33 years as choral director for the University’s School of Music. This concert, Entre Amis, will feature the University Choir, Men’s Chorus, and Women’s Chorus in a celebration of Canadian and European choral works.
The program includes Erika Esenwalds “The New Moon,” featuring tuned water glasses; “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” by American composer Randall Thompson; and choral works by Canadian composers Harry Somers, Sarah Quartel, and Diane Loomer.
Graduate students Melanie Huber, David Vanderbout, and Ashley Arroyo also will conduct on the program.
