Sacramento State’s Men’s Choir and Women’s Choir invite some special guests to help them celebrate spring at the annual Choralfest 2017.
The music begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 13, in the dynamic acoustics of Sacred Heart Church, 39th and J streets.
Led by Conductor Donald Kendrick, the choirs’ program includes Vivaldi’s “Magnificat” for choir, soloists, and orchestra. There also will be spirituals and modern works from Europe.
A Choralfest tradition includes performances by leading high school choirs. This year’s guest artists are the Rocklin High School Chamber Choir, directed by Shawn Spiess; the Bella Vista High School Chamber Choir, directed by Wendy Carey; and the El Camino High School Madrigals, directed by David Vanderbout.
Tickets are $10 general admission, $7 seniors, and $5 for students. Advance tickets are strongly recommended and may be purchased at the University Ticket Office, (916) 278-4323 or csus.edu/hornettickets.
