Sac State’s choirs will welcome special guests as they present the popular Choralfest spring concert.
The Men’s and Women’s choruses will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 12, amid the magnificent acoustics of Sacred Heart Church, 39th and J streets.
The choruses will welcome guest choirs from Antelope and Folsom high schools, and John Adams Academy.
The evening will include Gustav Holst’s Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda, performed by the Women’s Chorus with Jacquelyn Venter on harp. The chorus also will perform Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Song with violinist Sandro Ladu.
The Men’s Chorus will present Randall Thompson’s Tarantella with pianist Ryan Enright. They’ll also premiere Sacramento State composition student Brian O’Donnell’s new arrangement of The Sounds of Silence.
