Sacramento State puts a clear path to a degree in the spotlight from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Student Academic Success Day with a theme of “Taking Graduation by Storm.”
The event brings together the entire campus for the common cause of student success. It begins at 10 a.m. with a session for faculty and staff in the University Union, Redwood Room, on strategies the campus can employ to improve graduation rates.
A keynote speech by internationally renowned author and motivational speaker Eric Thomas at noon in the University Union Ballroom highlights the event. Thomas’ energetic and heartfelt messages of hope, perseverance, upward mobility, and success in the midst of obstacles have inspired people of all age groups and demographics to live up to their fullest potential and peak performance levels by breaking the cycles of un-productivity, defeatist mind-sets, crime, hopelessness, and despair that many face daily.
The day also includes success workshops for students, inspirational talks on graduation success, college sessions for success in the major, and a resource fair.
