If
you guessed Temecula Valley, you're correct. This California
Wine Tourism postcard-perfect view is taken from Mount
Palomar Winery
of the vineyards behind Stuart
Cellars Winery.
If ever the term "up-and-coming" could be applied to
a California wine region, this one would be it. Tourists to
Temecula Valley will immediately notice the extreme vegetation
- cacti and succulents mingle with vineyards as does
chaparral. The
climate is not quite as hot as some other wine regions, but
it's very dry without many of the cooling breezes common in
hot wine regions. Many of the wineries here, such as Falkner
and Baily
have their own restaurants, and some, like South
Coast Winery Resort and Spa,
are complete resorts (although the wine may not be their
strongest suit). The landscape has it's challenges, but wine
makers, like those at Hart
Family Winery,
are dedicated to making Temecula Valley noted for Italian and
Spanish varietals. |
