31Jan09: The annual average Unemployment Rate for Amador County in 2008 was 7.7%, up from the 2007 rate of 5.9%. The forecast for 2009, based on actual data through December, 2008, is a two percentage point increase to 9.8%. |
Taxable Sales |
31Jan09: Taxable sales, for all outlets, increased by 1.4% in 2007, much slower than the 9.2% in 2006. The forecast for 2008, based on actual results through the 4th quarter of 2007, is for a -0.5% (-$2.3 million) decrease, followed by a larger -0.9% (-$4.6 million) decrease in 2009. |
