Sac State enjoys record donations on 'Giving Tuesday'

Giving Tuesday donations hit a record high this year across the nation and at Sac State. On Nov. 29, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University opened their hearts and wallets to donate more than $130,000—just over an 82 percent increase from last year's donations.

Scholarships and student support topped the leaderboard with more than $54,000 in donations. The College of Arts and Letters came in second with $24,600 and the College of Health and Human Services rounded out the top three with nearly $12,000 in donations.

Giving Tuesday takes place annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and uses the power of social media to encourage online donations. Gifts to Sac State help create a better campus and increased opportunities for students. To learn more about the impact of supporting Sac State, visit
