Guest Tickets

New to Commencement this year is a ticket requirement for guests to attend the ceremonies. Tickets are free of charge, unique to each college ceremony and are only valid at the Commencement ceremony listed on the ticket.

For Spring 2017 ceremonies, graduates can claim up to nine (9) complimentary tickets for their guests. Graduates do not need tickets. Children three and under who will sit on a guardian's lap during the ceremony do not require a ticket.

Deadline for claiming tickets is Friday, May 12. After May 12, any unclaimed tickets may be released to graduates who need extra.

Unclaimed Tickets

At 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, there will be an opportunity for students in some colleges to obtain unclaimed tickets. Be sure to visit the Commencement home page where you will find links to the Hornet Tickets system. The process will be similar to the original claiming period. The number of available tickets per graduate may vary by college.

Please note: If all tickets for your ceremony are claimed in the initial release period, your college may not have additional to release.

Ticket Exchange

No additional tickets will be distributed. If you need more than nine (9) tickets you may be able to obtain them from fellow graduates who will not use their full allotment.

Students may forward their unused tickets to fellow graduates electronically through the Hornets Tickets system.

The Sacramento State Alumni Facebook page has a forum for graduates to exchange tickets with their classmates. However, tickets may not be sold or traded for anything of monetary value. You may only exchange with peers who are participating in the same ceremony.

Live-Stream

The University will live-stream each ceremony so family and friends can view their graduate’s recognition from anywhere. Additionally, the University will host a viewing party on campus in the University Union, with complimentary parking available for those who are not able to attend the ceremonies and want to view the ceremony live-stream.
