Alumni Packages

Thank you for your interest in the Career Center’s services and programs, as well as the various alumni packages available to Sacramento State and CSU alumni. The Career Center reserves the right from time to time, as well as on a case by case basis, to modify one or more of the alumni services and/or packages/policies impacting alumni. The continued use of alumni services after modifications indicates your acceptance of the modification and the applicability of the alumni policy. In addition, your use of alumni services indicates you accept the terms herein and agree to abide by them. You understand and agree that the alumni service is provided "as-is" and that California State University, Sacramento and the Career Center assume no responsibility for any outcomes of services received.

Available to any alumni who have graduated* from any CSU.  This package includes access to Hornet Career Connection

Member of Sacramento State Alumni Association 
Package

Members of the Sacramento State Alumni Association who have received their degree* from Sacramento State within 2 years 

This package includes Career Center services with (5) counseling visits and participation in the On-Campus Recruitment program under a second priority status.  This package is good for (1) year and is nonrefundable and not prorated, and must be utilized within 2 years of graduation.

Alumni who have received their degree* from Sacramento State within 2 years

This package includes Career Center services with (5) counseling visits and participation in the On-Campus Recruitment program under the second priority status.  This package is good for (1) year and is nonrefundable and not prorated, and must be utilized within 2 years of graduation.

CSU System 
Package

  • CSU Alumni who have received their degree* from any CSU within 2 years
  • CSU Alumni must submit a letter of reciprocity from the career center of their graduating institution
This package includes Career Center services with (5) counseling visits and participation with the On-Campus Recruitment program under the second priority status.  This package is good for (1) year and is non refundable, non renewable, and not prorated.

EMBA
Package

$100

Alumni or graduates* from the Sacramento State Executive Master’s of Business Administration Program This package includes (3) counseling visits for resume review and assessments only. This package is good for (1) year and is non refundable, non renewable, and not prorated.

*Note: Date of graduation is defined as the first of the month that follows the last month of enrollment at the graduating institution. For example, May 15th (last day of final semester) = June 1st graduation date; December 15th = January 1st grad date

Alumni who have graduated more than 2 years ago

Sacramento State and CSU degree holders who have graduated more than two years ago are eligible to have access to Career Connection, the Career Center's online job posting database for a $25 fee per year. For community resources please CLICK HERE.

Community Members, Former Students, and Open University

Alumni Services

Alumni are entitled to the following services at no charge:

  • Career Center Events: Attend any or all of the fall and spring career events that may include: Speed Interviewing, Resume Makeover, Engineering Career Fair (ECS event), Career Fair, Educator Expo, Pathways to Public Service, and Etiquette Dinner.
  • Lecture Series, Panels and Event: Attend presentations focusing on a specific employer, or on a specific topic, industry, college, or field. Lecture events and panels are posted on Career Connection and our website.

Additional services available to Alumni with the purchase of an Alumni Package:

  • Walk-in Services: Attend a 15-20 minute Session with Career Counseling staff who will assist alumni and make referrals to Career Center, campus, and/or community services/resources as needed.
  • Follow-up Career Counseling Sessions: Participate in up to five 50-minute appointments with a career counselor per calendar year. Services include, but are not limited to, life transitions; discovering meaningful work; decision-making and goal setting; assessment of skills, values, and interests; creating work/life balance; educational planning; overcoming obstacles to achieving life/career goals; job search strategies; resume writing; and interviewing techniques.
  • Career Resource Library: Utilize our career resource library with information by industry, major, and interest area. Information on resumes and cover letters, graduate schools, job search resources, internships, resources for educators, and international jobs, are also available.
  • Computerized Career Information Center: Access 5 workstations with Internet access to education, career, and job search-related information. Our computerized career information systems, EUREKA and Choices, provide users with valuable access to various modules, including  self-exploration, vocational schools, undergraduate and graduate programs, how to start your own business, occupational and industry information, and decision-making and goal setting.
  • Career Center Handouts and Booklets: Pick-up numerous job search related handouts and resources. Check out the Career Center’s Handbook and Resume and Cover Letter Booklet for sample resumes and cover letters, as well as valuable career and job search articles. Our website, www.csus.edu/careercenter, is an excellent resource for information on our services and programs, including upcoming events.
  • On-campus Recruitment: Participate in the On-campus Recruitment Program on a second priority basis. The program offers interviews conducted in the Career Center by employer representatives throughout the fall and spring semesters. 
  • Hornet Career Connection: Access our online job posting database that includes full-time, part-time, internship, and cooperative education positions. Search by key word, major, or employer name. Also, there are Career Center events and workshops posted on Hornet Career Connection as well.
  • Practice for Interview Sessions: Practice your interview skills with a career counselor for graduate and professional school interviews and employment-related interviews. Each practice for interview session counts toward your 5 visits per year.
