'Send Silence Packing' puts spotlight on suicide prevention
The Active Minds’ national traveling exhibit of 1,100 backpacks, each telling the personal story of a young person lost to suicide, made its only Northern California stop at Sac State this month. The "Send Silence Packing" exhibit allowed members of the campus community to walk among the backpacks and read the stories about students who took their own lives.

Profile: Philip I. Person ’08 (Communication Studies)
A sprinter on the Hornet track and field team and a leader for the Sac State Debate team, Philip Person now handles commercial litigation at Manatt, Phelps and Phillips in San Francisco. In April 2015, Person also received a Rising Star Award for his leadership within the community.
Wells Fargo’s investment boosts students and graduates
Corporate partner Wells Fargo supports the Veterans Success Center, provides financial education to students and sponsors the College of Business Administration’s Sacramento Business Review. The bank also creates opportunities for graduates to work locally.

Sac State is awarded an HSI federal grant
Sac State's drive for student success received a critical lift last month as the University was awarded a Developing Hispanic-Serving Institution grant of more than $2.4 million from the U.S. Department of Education. The funds will be used to boost the success of Hispanic and low-income students attending Sac State, and improve retention and graduation rates.
